Born into a musically prominent Afro-Creole / New Orleans family, John Boutté follows sister Lillian, (star of the musical "One Mo' Time") into a professional music career. Currently the lead singer in Palm Records - ¡Cubanismo!, his signature vocal sound has helped sell their records around the world. Boutté got his start a few years ago in a jam session with Stevie Wonder. Wonder told him "your a good piano player, but you're an incredible singer." Critics often compare Boutté to the likes of Sam Cooke and Little Jimmy Scott.
The title track, "At The Foot of Canal Street" and "Sisters" were co-written by Paul Sanchez of Cowboy Mouth. Cowboy Mouth often perform "At The Foot of Canal Street" in their live shows and it is also the theme song for the casino Harrah's in New Orleans.
