With The Wheels Roll, Bruce Henderson became a literate ambassador for today's singer / songwriters celebrating the American experience. The meeting began at the intersection of honkey-tonk, folk, rock and "insurgent" country. Now, Bruce Henderson is ready to take you Beyond The Pale.
On this long-awaited second album, Henderson is teamed with several longtime collaborators: noted Australian producer / guitarist Kerryn Tolhurst (Paul Kelly, The Dingoes), bassist Paul Ossola (Saturday Night Live, The Roches), drummer Steve Holley (Paul McCartney, Junior Brown) and keyboard / accordionist Charlie Giordano (Joe Cocker, Pat Benatar). Fellow Hearts and Minds alumnus Andy York (John Mellencamp, Marshall Crenshaw) joins them for several cuts. While the focus is on Henderson's songwriting, Beyond The Pale also features Henderson's songs co-written and sung with alternate country songwriter Matthew Grimm of New York's Hangdogs and pop / rocker Curtis Stigers.
