This recording is made up of two sections that present the music of Holy Week and Easter in Italy at the time of Monteverdi.   Jean Tubery invites us once again to discover such exciting pieces as the moving Stabat Mater in chaconne form by G.F. Sances.   The carefully chosen instrumental works provide their own commentary on the sorrowful and jubilant events of the Passion and the Resurrection.
