TREBLE & BASS (2L59SACD) with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Marianne Thorsen envelope the listener in a Nordic mood of orchestral surround sound has also been nominated in the Best Surround Sound Album category. Both recordings feature music by Norwegian composers.
All at NMC Recordings are thrilled with the announcement that the NMC Songbook has been awarded the 2009 Classic FM Gramophone Award in the 'Contemporary' catagory.![]() To mark its 20th Anniversary in 2009 NMC Recordings commissioned the NMC Songbook. Nearly 100 composers, ranging from the country's most highly regarded figures to the younger generation of emerging talents, have each written a song, loosely themed on 'Britain' and scored for single voice or duet and a range of accompanying instruments.

CKD 319 Retrospect Trio are shortlisted in the 'Baroque Instrumental' category for their debut album Henry Purcell: Ten Sonatas in Four Parts, which marks the 350th birthday of Henry Purcell. CKD 332 The final selections will be announced in the Awards issue of Gramophone Magazine, on sale on early in October.

ATMA Classique recording artist, conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, returned to Australia to conduct the Sydney Symphony Orchestra from August 12 until August 22, 2009. Maestro Nézet-Séguin and the SSO presented 4 concerts of Haydn’s Military Symphony with Bruckner’s Third Symphony. Then they presented 3 concerts of Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony with Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto. Maestro Nézet-Séguin, who is the Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, has a number of very popular recordings released on ATMA Classique, including Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony
