Jim Chappell: Acadia - GR 1001
Jim Chappell's debut release on Gallery Records, was inspired by Acadia National Park in Maine, and is reminiscent of his 1989 breakthrough album Living the Northern Summer (#1 NAC radio hit), in which he crystallized his childhood memories from the landscape of Michigan into his music. Having recently spent a week traveling through Acadia National Park to absorb the beauty of his surroundings, Chappell captured his journey in melodic memories. "When I make an album," he says "all I've ever done is create material as it comes to me. I'm not really in charge of that… as a creative person, you're working with something much greater than yourself."
